Time: 3 Hours
Total Marks :100
Section A
Attempt any four of the following:
- List the
essential properties o a linear network systems.
- State and
explain Thevenin's Theorem. Can a Thevenin theorem be applied to a linear
load only? Give reasons in support of your answer.
- Define node,
cutset, and twig.
- Define
the properties of driving point impedance function.
- List the
properties of the Laplace transform and its inverse, explaining time
scaling and frequency scaling.
- Which of the
given polynomial is a Hurwitz polynomial?
(i) s3 + 4s2 + 5s +2
(ii) s4 + 7s3 + 6s2 + 21s + 8
Section B
Attempt any two of the following:
- Explain how
Bode-plot is made for calculation of stability. Explain for Type 0 and
Type 1 system.
- Derive maximum
power transfer theorem in case of d.c and a.c network.
- Derive
expression for condition of symmetry in terms of Z and H parameter.
Section C
Attempt
any two of the following:
- Find the Laplace
transform of function
f (t) = t2 sin (wt). - Why ABCD
parameter is known as Transmission parameter? What is the condition of
Reciprocity in case of ABCD parameter? Derive condition for symmetry of
Transmission parameter?
- For the network
shown in Fig.1, Obtain the Open circuit impedance parameter and draw its
equivalent circuit. In the fig, R1 = R3 =R4
=2Ω and R2 =1Ω

Section D
Attempt
any two of the following:
- Determine the
Foster and Cauer form of realization of the given driving-point impedance
function Z(s)
- Give the
statement and explain the following theorems
(i) Superposition Theorem
(ii) Tellegen's Theorem - An impulse is
applied at the input of a system and the output is observed to be the time
function e-2t. Find
the transfer function of the system.
Section E
Attempt
any two of the following:
- What is
Stability and how it is calculated by Routh Hurwitz criterion?
